My tribute to Mrs Monika Talukdar

Mrs Monica Talukdar - the acclaimed Artist in her own right trained among others by the legendary Sh Benode Behari Mukherjee who was also the legendary Shri Satyajit Ray's Art teacher. HER WORK has been exhibited in many galleries In the country and abroad. She was also associated in a "Guru Shishya Parampara "with Dada  Dr Dwijen Sen - the well known Sculptor, Artist and Homoeopath Doctor of KALA KENDRA near St Thomas School and has taken much pain in further highlighting Dada Dwijen Sen's work after his passing away .She was the FOUNDER of "Uttarakhand Artists Association "
I personally hold the "Book " she has authored in high esteem viz "Footprints of Bengal on the Himalayas " .To quote from the book itself about the Book - " More than a Register of some of the leading lights of the "Bengal Renaissance "who left their footprints on the Himalayas. The book contains many intimate accounts of these personalities and their interactions with the people there -- From Swami Vivekananda to Rabindranath Tagore ( and his eldest son Shri Rathindra Nath Tagore) or Uday Shankar and his dance troupe in Almora, the "Radical Humanist " MN Roy( who had his house in Dalanwala Doon) or the legendary Artist Mr Benode Behari Mukherjee - the list is long. "
Also Sree Sree MA ANANDAMAYEE who once walked the land of Doon and Hardwar , Smt Monica Talukdar's late husband Dr SN TALUKDAR considered the legendary "Father " of Indian Offshore Oil Exploration from ONGC ( Member Explorations),  eminent Forester Dr Krishnadass Bagchi from FRI DEHRADUN....
" The book contains a wealth of information about these Great Personalities and their contribution to this HIMALAYAN STATE.
DOON VALLEY today is POORER in the passing away of Mrs MONICA TALUKDAR. A "VALUABLE LINK " with the legendary past of DOON stands SNAPPED
Our heart goes out to the children of Late Mrs Monica Talukdar.
May the departed soul of MRS MONICA TALUKDAR be AT PEACE.
May GOD grant her family and the lot of her admirers and well wishers the strength to bear this irreparable loss. OM SHANTI.
